Sebastian Borghi

Brewer | Wild Card Brewery

Seb moved from Italy to London in 2013 to pursue a career in craft beer. He started out working in bars such as The Euston Tap and The Bottle Shop. Then after a short stint in Barcelona, helping out microbreweries he returned to London and joined Wild Card Brewery.

Established  in 2012 in Walthamstow, Wild Card is focused on producing excellent beer with a special attention on hop-forwarded styles and sours.

Drinking and making beer are Seb’s beloved passions and when he is not doing that he can usually be found skateboarding, and hand poke tattooing.

Lockdown has taught me….

to re-evaluate the importance of reaching out to the important people in my life such as family members, old but good friends as well as flatmates!

Boxcar beers preferably from their brewery and taproom in Bethnal Green…Great fresh stuff, plus Kieran is always down to share one of his rare bottles or cans. Definetly one of the best vibes in town.

Pressure Drop because their beers are just mind blowing and flavoursome as well as being sold at the best price for quality. In lockdown, I’ve missed The Experiment (their bar and joint venture with Verdant brewing….such a good location and great beers.

all good beer because their selection is always on point! Their bar is just cute and chilled. Owner Elliot is such a nice mate and eager to talk about beers, which I’m always well up for!

Efes Turkish restaurant in Shadwell. They have restaurants across the city but are still independent owned and make the best falafel and halloumi wraps…I highly recommend trying them!
